Chicory coffee is the perfect alternative to classic, decaffeinated coffee. It is made from chicory root (Chicorium intybus), which is harvested in autumn and is first cleared of earth, dried and finally roasted, and then pulverised.
The resulting powder is then boiled for a few minutes and filtered, like a common decoction. This produces this healthy drink, very similar to ordinary coffee, without any traces of caffeine.
It also boasts numerous properties that make it a very healthy drink in every respect, and for these reasons, too, Dr Piero Mozzi recommends its consumption, particularly by people of blood group 0, who have problems with classic coffee (irritation of the stomach lining, colitis, tachycardia, arrhythmia, hypertension, irritability, insomnia, anxiety, etc.).
